Heya.. This was a trip I was looking forward to for a very long time. But when I reached Goa it seemed whole India was looking forward to the same vacation. Not to worry! Goa has widest arms to welcome everyone :) It has something to offer to anyone with any weird or normal vacation ideas
Pros of the trip: It was monsoon time. I would call Goan Monsoons home away from home ( it rained so much... felt as if i was in Mumbai :P lol) This is off season but not peak summer. This time is pleasant to roam around. The rains in Goa is sporadic and heavy. If you are faint hearted for wet and mud pools, then do re plan.
Verdict: Your photos will look naturally awesome because light is diffused by the clouds and humidity. Wear bright colours and you will land up with good backup of profile photos for a year ;)
This was a long weekend and Goa is not what it used to be. It does offer cheaper options for budget travelers. Hence it was pretty crowded. There are many locals who rent out rooms esp in Baga, Calangute areas. We took a place in Baga- Calangute Road ( Behind Cafe Coffee Day, Close to Tito's Lane) - Jonita's Guest House ph: 08322277166 or Fernandes Uncle: 09764244092
The travel to and from Goa was also significantly high. Try any travel like Neeta, VRL, Konduskar, Naik/Fernandes travels. Do keep in mind the ghat region, hence semi-sleeper works better than sleeper. Personally I prefer a non-ac in the winding roads. The transit within the city was costly too. The bikes - Activa, Dio were rented out at Rs 300 - 400. If you are in Baga Calangute Jonita's can rent you bike at cheaper rate. But if you coming in from Mumbai/Pune then try Sarvesh ph: 9158696874 ( He would deliver the bike and pick it up from the place where the bus drops you off)
Do invest Rs 20 - 30 for a map ( preferably glossy paper to avoid it from getting wet) GPS is not always readily available. Also I dont think you are the kind to keep hooked on to a phone when in vacation.
The Itinerary and full length plan to follow.
