Goa: The Beaches Day 1: Itinerary

Goa is overnight journey from Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyd and places in Kerala. Hence I would start the itinerary accordingly. Do feel free to make changes specific to your needs.

I generally split my Goa trip into two parts - The beaches and The Churches. If you are starting from Panaji and coming into Goa or staying in Calangute/Baga - It makes sense to move towards one end start seeing each beach on the way. The roads are pretty well self explanatory.

Start from Chapora Fort -> Vagator beach ( Ozran Beach) -> Anjuna Beach -> Dando Beach -> Calangute/Baga

or Baga -> Calangute ->  Candolim -> Sinquerim -> Aguada Jail -> Aguada Fort -> Aguada Lighthouse

Things you should try out: Cheat Codes :P

  • Go the cliff from Chapora Fort. You will have a small entrance as shown in the map above. The view is just stunning. You can see the waves getting formed and moving towards you and growing big in size. Also you can see the sea currents and directions. Just how it was shown in your geography text book.

  •  Check out the Shiva's head in Ozran Beach, just off Vagator Beach. This is marked in yellow in the map above

  • Check out Dando beach just off Anjuna Beach to avoid all the crowd. Also check out the famous Curlie's as well.

  • Check out Baga River, Britto's and Cliff that leads up on the other side of Baga River.
  • Walk from Calangute - Baga beach. Its a great walk esp to ease your appetite.
  • Check out Sinquerim Beach - Lower Fort Aguada. This is very close to Taj Vivanta, Huge &  beautiful property.Walk till the circular water fort and then up till end of another

  •  Aguada Jail, Fort and Lighthouse. Please remember the fort and lighthouse close at 5 30 pm. So plan accordingly. The route is highlighted in Purple and view points highlighted in Pink. Do stop by to check out colourful boats in Nerul river.
